Dr. Patrick Mead, Senior Pastor
Patrick and his wife Christy came to First Southern in September 2009. Patrick has pastored churches in Texas and Oklahoma before coming to Arkansas. Patrick and Christy have three beautiful daughters: Abigail (11), Maribeth (9), and Caroline (5).
Dr. Clif Springer, Associate Pastor / Missions
Clif and his wife Brenda came to First Southern in July 2006. Clif has pastored churches for over 30 years and brings a wealth of knowledge on our staff to handle our administrative matters. Clif and Brenda have 3 children: Allison and husband Chuck who will be entering the mission field of Brazil in December, Jeremy and wife Shonna, and Stuart and wife Laura. They have 3 grandchildren.
Chad Smith, Minister of Music / Worship Leader
Chad was called as our Minister of Music / Worship Leader. Chad's first Sunday was 6/6/2010.
Kirk Stewart, Interim Minister of Education / Outreach
Kirk was baptized at First Southern in October 1976 at the age of 8. He married his High School Sweetheart, Tonya, in May 1991. They are the parents of 2 girls, Rachel and Emily. Kirk completed his Master of Arts in Lay Ministries from Southwestern in 2005. Kirk has been serving in various capacities at First Southern and thanks God for the blessing of allowing him to be a part of this fellowship.
Peter Cunningham, Minister to Families with High School / College Students
Peter and his wife, Theresa came back to First Southern in March of 2010. They have two sons: Fisher and Ian. He and his family have served as missionaries in Las Vegas, NV and Guatemala (Central America). Peter is a Bryant native and is excited about ministering in a community where he was raised.
Clay Steelman, Minister to Families with Middle School Students / Recreation
Clay joined our staff November 5, 2006. He and Lydia married in May, 2007. Clay graduated Ouachita Baptist University in 2004. Clay is currently attending Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary through the Little Rock extension program. Clay has served on the mission field as a Journeyman (2 year program for college graduates with the IMB). Clay brings an enthusiasm for middle school students and evangelism to our church family.
Kristin Whitworth, Minister to Families with Preschool / Children
Kristin and husband Darren along with daughters Meagan and Katie have been members of First Southern since 1992. Kristin has served as Mother Day Out director and Assistant to Children’s Minister before jumping into an interim minister position. After being led by God, Kristin joined our staff in July 2006 in her current position.
